You're 28 Today!

It's true.  Today, my sister is two years away from turning 30.  She's going to love me for pointing that one out!  I find it really hard to believe that she's already 28.  Time sure flies.  It feels like yesterday that we were teenagers living at home, laughing and fighting like sisters do.  Since I'm a terrible sister and didn't send a card, I'm devoting an entire post to her.  Bet you're feeling the love now, aren't you?  Consider this your birthday card.

Dear Christine,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!  If you weren't running around a hospital saving lives right now, I'd call you and sing a lovely rendition of Happy Birthday.  You know how good my voice is, so consider that a present unto itself.  You should put me on speaker phone so that all of your patients could hear me.  I bet they'd love that.

Jokes aside, this day is yours and I hope you feel lots and lots of love.  Even though you're in New Jersey, I'm in Ontario, and Mom and Dad are in BC, you're in our hearts we're all thinking of you today.  I'll be sure to have a bottle glass of wine and piece of cake (or two) in your honour.

I'm proud of the person you are, the success you've had, and how you've overcome challenging times.  I'm so proud to call you my sister.  You're beautiful inside and out.

I'm happy that we're close in age.  I'm happy that we're great friends.  I'm happy that you still let me borrow your clothes, even if it means that you won't get them back for a long time.  I'm happy that even though we don't get to see each other as often as we'd like, when we're together, it's like we never skipped a beat.

We're two peas in a pod, and I'm happy you're in my pod.

I love you, CJ, forever and always.

Happy Birthday.

XO

Allison
